The White Zone is for A-4 parking only.
This A-4 Skyhawk belonging to Marine Attack Squadron 133 ( !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ) was parked outside the 12th Naval District offices on Treasure Island in San Francisco Bay.
Anybody care to guess the year? You could click on the photo credit, but that would be cheating.
Update: s hop-t eacher got the date. It was taken in 1979.

It’s just crazy to me to think that the oldest thing in the picture is the jet.

Same jet:
And it still exists, though it is now on display at Encinal High School in Alameda:
This is just outside the former NAS Alameda, so I assume they had children of naval aviators (and today they are just a short walk from USS Hornet :

Yes!!!
The white Malibu is the newest vehicle in the pic. That body style came out in '78, but I decided there would be more of them on the road in '79.

I had to confirm, since I thought that Malibu was very much a product of the 80s.

Nice one! We had a four door one but brown in 84.

They did sell them through most of the 80's. I think '87(?), so that was a reasonable line of thought.

The Malibu itself could place the picture anywhere from late ‘77, until the early or even mid 90's. It was the fact that it was the newest vehicle in the picture, that steered me earlier. I figured ‘78 or ‘79 were the most likely. I went with ‘79 figuring more Malibus would be on the road by then.

I started driving in 1979, which was when I started paying more attention to the cop cars on the road, and our local police department drove Malibus. That whole period, to me, is the 1980s, so I was surprised to learn that particular Malibu style began in the late 70s.
